Paul & Natalie got married on a scorching hot summer's day in July, at Maunsel House in Somerset. I absolutely adore outdoor weddings- possibly because in this country they are quite rare!- and Paul & Natalie's elegant, intimate occasion, inspired in part by the glamorous art-deco 1920's era, completely won my heart.
Natalie let me in on the secret details of her dress before her wedding, and I knew that her Jenny Packham wedding dress was the perfect choice for her. It really was a breath-taking gown- the beading and detail, the simple, elegant, cut and drape. Paul's Ralph Lauren black label attire was a fitting match for his beautiful bride. Of course, with a bride who has such a creative and attentive eye, their wedding day itself was a visual wonder. Peacocks strolled the grounds amongst the emerald-clad bridesmaids, strands of pearls draped over the table's candelabras, decorative and intricate paperwork by talented stationer Paperknots graced seat names, table names, and table plans; the list of pretty details goes on and on.
But this wedding was not just a showcase of pretty things- like most weddings I love, it was a day full of emotion and precious moments. As the emerald lanterns swung in the early evening breeze, as the sun slowly set over a magical day, Natalie's brave and beautiful speech moved me to tears as she dedicated her day to a very precious lost family member.
I have no doubt that Natalie's Mother would have been beyound proud of her beautiful daughter.
Below are just a few of my favourite images of the day- all shot on film.
Congratulations, Paul & Natalie- thank you for inviting me & CKB Photography to capture your day for you.
